In August 1970, the first TV station was launched in black and white and the colored transmission started in 1974, and in 1982 Channel 2 was launched and it broadcasts in English mainly. The daily transmission of Qatar TV exceeds 25 hours on 9 & 11 channels. Aljazeera Satellite Channel started Broadcasting in November 1996.
